Hearthstone Year of the Raven approaches - General changes and information

March 12 , 2018

Year of the Raven is upon us. Less than two months remain till the first expansion for 2018 and its launch will mark the end of the Year of the Mammoth. When we reach this benchmark a few important things will happen:

STANDARD SET ROTATION. All sets from 2016 will leave Standard. We say goodbye to Whispers of the Old Gods, One Night in Karazhan and Mean Streets of Gadgedzan. If you don’t plan on playing Wild at all in the future you can disenchant cards from those sets to fuel your income for the new standard decks that are about to come. But be careful and don’t touch any cards from Journey to Un’Goro, Knights of the Frozen Throne and Kobolds and Catacombs. These three sets will be part of Standard till the end of the Year of the Raven.

HALL OF FAMERS. Three cards will go to Hall of Fame – Ice Block, Molten Giant and Coldlight Oracle. This means that those cards will be available only in the Wild format. However, Blizzard this time did something that has never happened before – they UNnerfed a card – Molten Giant is reverted back to its original cost of 20 mana. This way they open a door for themselves to revert other nerfs in the future.

FREE DUST. Just like at the start of the Year of the Mammoth players will be refunded for the cards that go to the Hall of Fame. You will get the full dust value for all those cards you own (up to 2 copies per card). It’s really important to underline here that you don’t need to disenchant the cards. If you own golden copies for some or all of the cards that go to Hall of Fame you get the dust equivalent for them instead for the non-golden ones. You can’t get dust both for the golden and the non-golden ones. If you wish to own these cards golden, now is the time to craft them and you can do it for free since you get the dust back. Here is a simple example of how it works. Let’s say that you have 2 normal Ice Blocks. You pay 3200 dust to craft 2 golden ones. When the rotation comes you will get 3200 dust back from the refund and you can disenchant the 2 normal ones which leaves you with 2 golden Ice Blocks and 200 dust profit.

FASTER AND MORE REWARDING DAILY QUESTS. Requirements for some of the daily quests will be lower and all daily quests that rewarded you with 40 gold will now reward 50 gold instead. Overall the changes will allow farming more gold from quests while investing less time.

NEW DRUID HERO called Lunara will be available for the players when they achieve their first 10 wins for the Year of the Raven. Furthermore Maiev won’t be available to collect so make sure that you have it by that time if you don’t already.

In-game tournaments. Blizzard client will be available as a platform for organizing and participating in tournaments. This will probably consolidate all HCT Major and Cup tournaments. However this feature won’t be implemented with the start of the Year of the Raven but a few months later.

As usual you will have the full support of our Hearthstone boost Team throughout the entire Year of the Raven.
